History
In 1985, Gerard Westerman Snr bought a used Scania lorry, model 111, from Beers Bedrijfsauto BV (Beers Utility Cars). After restoring this lorry to its original condition in the course of a year in his own service station, Garage Westerman, Gerard founded Westerman International Transport in 1986. In 1992, the transport company had expanded to a total of three lorries, and the eldest son, Dennis Westerman, joined his father’s company as a driver. Reliability and good service were the cornerstones of the company ever since the start and remained so when in 1997 Dennis took over the company from his father. Westerman International Transport was and still is the prototype of a family business, with mother Cora and Natasja, the wife of Dennis, keeping the records and brother Gerard Jnr taking care of the maintenance of all of the equipment. Today, in 2007, we take pride in having realized a growth to a total of seven complete, state-of-the-art articulated lorries.
